Description
As the second part of the APEC Marine Sustainable Development Report (AMSD) series, this report is developed on the foundation of AMSD 1 and reflects new and ongoing trends and endeavors of APEC member economies in fostering ocean-related sustainable development. It reviews APEC economies’ achievements on promoting sustainable development pursuant to the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 14. Policies, plans, and programs initiated by member economies on sustainable ocean management are stock taken, best practices are summarized, and suggestions on further strengthening APEC’s contribution in fostering ocean-related sustainable development are proposed.
