APEC ensures that goods, services, investment and people move easily across borders. Members facilitate this trade through faster customs procedures at borders; more favorable business climates behind the border; and aligning regulations and standards across the region.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way we work, live, communicate and learn, so its impact on education is bringing opportunities as well as numerous threats. Intermediate skill jobs as we know them, are fast disappearing as their tasks are systematically automated. Thus, this project seeks to examine how APEC economies’ Qualifications Frameworks (QF) adapt to new technologies (e.g., AI), providing an updated educational and training offer, so that professionals have the necessary qualifications to quickly respond to changes. This publication recounts the details regarding the implementation of a 2-day workshop that addressed the aforementioned topic and includes a compendium of best practices to systematize and compare regional and domestic experiences oriented to lifelong learning, promotion of quality productive insertion and equal opportunities for women, seeking to widen perspectives and knowledge of policymakers, HRDWG members, as well as those of other APEC fora.
