This Project Summary Report provides an overview of the APEC Education Officials Dialogue: Schools as Community Hubs project, which was implemented in Detroit, United States in May 2023. Education officials from fourteen (14) APEC member economies attended the dialogue event in-person to discuss community-driven strategies that help schools build the capacity to address local problems affecting student educational access and achievement. The event provided additional resources to stakeholders to help students receive an equitable and quality education, position schools to better meet the needs of the whole child, and make plans for additional community engagement. This report also includes results from the post-event survey and suggestions on how to promote future work related to community-driven strategies within APEC HRDWG.
