This survey report presents the collected information on how COVID-19 has impacted education in APEC member economies, the challenges and obstacles encountered in education, effective solutions to the challenges as well as recommendations for the future of education in four sections: Preschool, Basic Education, Higher Education, and Technical &Vocational Education and Training. The survey was conducted between May and June 2020 participated by 17 member economies – Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; China; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Peru; the Philippines; Russia; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; and Thailand.
This report provides a regional overview of APEC member economies’ educational responses to COVID-19 with focus on the main challenges and the solutions. Further, the report was developed to inform and encourage relevant policies and strategies ensure quality and equity of education in different contexts.
