Description
The project was aimed to address the fragmentation of conformity assessment requirements for energy efficient motors in the APEC and ASEAN regions by examining current energy efficiency standards and labeling requirements. The study highlighted the differences in how economies address energy efficient electric motors, and how these differences complicate conformity assessment procedures and represent significant barriers to trade of efficient motors. This report presents policy recommendations for accelerating market transformation in the APEC and ASEAN regions through a proposed harmonization roadmap of motor efficiency policies.
