This publication is a "Tourism Crisis Management Communication Plan" produced for public and private sectors involved in tourism, with the aim of contributing to the promotion of tourism crisis management across the APEC region. Ensuring tourists’ safety in case of a crisis or disaster is an important role of both tourism destinations and related businesses. The COVID-19 pandemic has raised awareness of that, and it is vital to take this opportunity to take action against future crises. We recommend that readers efficiently check their own current status in light of checklists of the second chapter, and identify elements that are lacking or require improvement. Then, it is expected to develop a comprehensive communication plan based on existing plans, strategies, the characteristics of own destinations or businesses and its vision of what it wants to achieve in the mid-to-long term.
