Description

The objective of this project is to extend the original Short Sea Shipping Study.

This new phase of the study intends to achieve two goals: (1) Develop a comprehensive intermodal transportation network model to enhance more seamless, efficient and effective interconnectivity among various modes, while reducing pollution, congestion, noise and other externalities; and (2) Address the issue of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation sources to better comply with upcoming regulations on international shipping of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and surface transportation modes of the Kyoto Protocol.
