This publication is based on the symposium, “Gender Mainstreaming and Women Empowerment to Fight Corruption” , organized by Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group (ACTWG). It lays out the scope, processes and methodology in regard to the formulation of policy recommendations on gender mainstreaming and women empowerment to fight corruption deriving from the opinions, thoughts, and findings of experts, academia, anti-corruption practitioners from the public and private sectors, women group advocates and international organizations who have participated in the symposium. It also incorporates the responses of the pre-symposium stocktaking survey. As a way forward, the objective of this publication is to translate the findings above and mandates of Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) and ACTWG into tangible policy recommendations which assist economies to integrate gender mainstreaming in their future anti-corruption initiatives.
