This report analyzes APEC region best practices to boost women’s participation in sustainable agricultural value chains. By examining barriers to and APEC’s best practices for gender equality, it guides policymakers in designing gender-responsive, climate-smart policies essential for transitioning to a low-carbon economy. The report expects to contribute to the region by: i) Improving overall well-being, agricultural productivity, food security, and child nutrition; ii) Enhancing women's decision-making power regarding investments and resource management, while building resilience and reducing gender-based violence; and iii) Increasing access to agricultural extension services to maximize nutritional outcomes and deepen women's integration across global food systems. Scaling these practices will foster sustainable development and inclusive economic growth across member economies.
