This project was designed to promote efficient marine debris monitoring and data analytics through the best practices sharing and information exchange, as well as showcase of the expertise on the application and accomplishment.
This publication contains the overview of the workshop, abstract of speakers, conclusion and policy recommendations regarding marine debris monitoring via innovative technologies, which took place in March 2022 in hybrid format. The theme mainly focused on using Artificial Intelligence to identify marine debris; tracking the source and converging spots of drifted marine debris to enhance monitoring efficiency by adopting the remote sensing technology to map the spatial movement and distribution of marine debris; and facilitating the regional collaboration with the assistance of innovative technology in the APEC region.
