Description

The 13th SCSC Conference: Standardisation in Circular Economy for a More Sustainable Trade was held virtually from 7 to 9 September 2021. Overseen by the Department of Standards Malaysia, this project aimed to provide a platform for sharing of information and best practices and encourage in developing standards and policies infrastructure for circular economy initiative purposes. Ninety-nine representatives from policymaking, standards bodies and industries across the Asia-Pacific region participated in the conference. Speakers from the ISO, IEC, WTO, OECD, ASEAN and some APEC economies have shared their knowledge and practices, as well as challenges and opportunities in implementing standardisation in circular economy to facilitate trade in the region. This final report summarizes the processes of the project, starting with the background of the project and summary of the desktop research findings, leading up to the summary of the conference outcomes and the analysis of the pre- and post-conference survey results.
