APEC ensures that goods, services, investment and people move easily across borders. Members facilitate this trade through faster customs procedures at borders; more favorable business climates behind the border; and aligning regulations and standards across the region.

The industrial sector, in particular the manufacturing industry has significant share of global energy consumption. Industrial manufacturing is the largest end-use sector in terms of both final energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, energy efficiency has acquired an important position when discussing about this industry. The need to mitigate the environmental impacts of manufacturing processes makes energy efficiency a key success factor for sustainable production.
In this regard, Viet Nam held the Workshop on Promoting Energy Efficiency in Manufacturing Sector in Ha Noi on 19-20 June 2025 to share information, experiences on how to promote energy efficiency in manufacturing industry as well as to provide recommendations on enhancing energy efficiency in this industry.
This Report summarized the Workshop proceedings, discussions and recommendation to APEC and member economies.
