APEC ensures that goods, services, investment and people move easily across borders. Members facilitate this trade through faster customs procedures at borders; more favorable business climates behind the border; and aligning regulations and standards across the region.

APEC-ACABT presents this report of the APEC project proposed by Chinese Taipei and co-sponsored by Chile; Indonesia; The Philippines; Thailand; and Viet Nam. As APEC member economies are engaged in climate change mitigation by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, challenges are emerging, and approaches are required concerning the impacts of human activities on economy-society-environment relationships. Green Synergy Solutions, a symbiotic and systematic pathway toward Net-Zero Emissions, could advance the energy and economic transition based on innovation and entrepreneurship. To promote the initiative, this project involved 16 experts (regulators and technologists) and 68 participants (delegates and young entrepreneurs, etc.) from 14 economies. It set an international platform that facilitates collaboration on capacity building for relevant stakeholders from governments, academia, research institutes, and the public and private sectors. Such a multilateral platform could contribute to fulfilling interconnection for societal resilience, innovation for environmental sustainability, and inclusion for economic equality in the APEC region.
