The APEC Services Index is a valuable tool to help economies identify, assess, and reform policies that impede regional services competitiveness. As the APEC region holds unique contexts, interests, and challenges to services competitiveness, APEC economies must be equipped with the knowledge and skills to apply the APEC Services Index in order to achieve three targets of the ASCR: effectively reduce restrictions, increase services exports from APEC economies, and increase trade in services in the region.
