This publication, developed under APEC Project SCSC 02 2023T, provides comprehensive guidance on strengthening good governance in the implementation of standardization and conformity assessment (CA) across APEC economies. It covers 4 elements that represent quality infrastructures which are standard development, standard implementation, conformity assessment and traceability, as well as learning and growth. It addresses the importance of Good Regulatory Practices (GRP) and Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) in enhancing the quality infrastructure and reducing trade barriers. Key outputs include guidance documents and a questionnaire designed to assess CA practices and organizational performance. A hybrid workshop held in Bali in July 2024 served as a platform to share best practices, identify challenges, and foster collaboration among 88 participants from 13 economies. This publication supports APEC's goals of trade facilitation and economic integration by promoting transparent and accountable regulatory frameworks and improving product and service competitiveness within the region.
