This report presents a summary of the APEC Workshop on Implementation of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) in APEC Economies, including through the APEC ODR Collaborative Framework held 25-27 January in Tokyo, Japan. Sixty participants across APEC attended the workshop, with 35 speakers from 14 APEC economies and the World Bank. The workshop:
1. reviewed the implementation of the Collaborative Framework, including the successful operation of partnering ODR Providers;
2. reviewed economies' favorable legal frameworks for implementing ODR;
3. provided capacity-building for economies considering opting into the Collaborative Framework;
4. explored economies’ use of ODR for domestic dispute resolution, including in the courts, and innovations in ODR;
5. encouraged ODR providers to partner with APEC under the Collaborative Framework;
6. supported promotion of the Collaborative Framework including encouraging businesses, including MSMEs, to use ODR; and
7. further refined and reviewed the implementation of the Collaborative Framework, including its application to business-to-consumer transactions.
