The physical and mental challenges that women face when dealing with health issues, like menstruation and menopause, can pose obstacles to women’s ability to advance in their careers.

This is partly because women’s health care needs are generally not well understood by employers and by society as a whole.

Thus, it is important to raise awareness of such gender-specific health challenges in the workplace, as well as to encourage innovation in products and services that provide solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of women.
