APEC Digital and AI Ministers Issue Joint Statement

APEC ministers responsible for telecommunications/information and communications technologies and digital policy issued a joint statement following the conclusion of their meeting in Chengdu on Thursday.

Echoing the discussions and outcomes of the 2026 APEC Digital and AI Ministerial Meeting, which was chaired by China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng, the statement reflected the consensus outcomes of the ministers in five key areas:

• Digital Literacy and Skills Enhancement for All
• Trusted Digital Environment
• Investment and Open Source for Digital Ecosystem
