APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting 3 (SOM3)

The Third APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM3) will bring together senior officials and delegates from the 21 member economies in Dalian, China, for policy discussions, technical meetings and capacity-building initiatives that help advance regional economic cooperation.

Over two weeks, dozens of APEC working groups advance cooperation across a wide range of areas central to growing our region's economic future. Discussions span digital trade rules, food security, customs modernization, agricultural biotechnologies, public health, disaster management and supply chain resilience, among other priorities.

These technical meetings play an important role in APEC’s work. They allow economies to develop practical initiatives, exchange expertise and build consensus before recommendations are elevated to senior officials for consideration.

The meeting series will conclude with the third Senior Officials’ Plenary Meeting on 27–28 August, where officials will review progress across APEC’s workstreams and help shape priorities for the remaining meetings of China’s 2026 host year ahead of APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Shenzhen this November.
