Assessment of Achievements of the Bogor Goals in 2012

Last page update:

2012 Bogor Goals Progress Report of twenty-one APEC member economies

The assessment of the progress towards the Bogor Goals includes two components: 1) Progress Reports with qualitative information mostly drawn from the Individual Action Plans submitted by APEC member economies; and 2) Dashboards with quantitative indicators drawn from well-known and respected external sources.

The assessment of the achievement of Bogor Goals by APEC and its twenty-one member economies can be found in the “APEC’s Bogor Goals Progress Report” and “APEC’s Bogor Goals Dashboard”.

In general, the analysis of the information shows that APEC member economies are moving in the right direction as progress has been achieved in all areas since the previous assessment conducted in 2010. Nevertheless, there is room for improvement as more work can be done. Efforts in trade liberalization have been significant, but uneven across sectors and non-tariff measures still remain. Trade facilitation, services and investment are becoming more relevant areas in the pursuit to improve business conditions.
