Description
This report is a follow-up initiative of APEC Education Strategy 2030 and its action plan. It shares up-to-date information and best practices of education development and reform in APEC economies by integrating the Baseline Report on Current Education Status in Asia-Pacific Region, outcomes of various projects and initiatives, results from the implementation of the APEC Education Strategy and its action plan, as well as related literature. The report examines the relationship between education and economic development, analyzes achievements, challenges and prospects around Cross-Border Education and Academic Mobility, Qualification Framework, Skill Development and Career and Technical Education, Education Innovation in the Digital Age, and 21st Century Competencies and Structural Education Reform and concludes with policy recommendations for member economies’ reference. In so doing it is hoped this will create a synergy for education-related projects and initiatives among APEC member economies, and this will in turn contribute to APEC’s efforts to achieve its goals of supporting sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
