Description

This report presents the current situation of women in the economy highlighting a significant gap in participation. It examines a subsector where this gap is even greater considering the variables of gender and indigenous origin. The discussion of its negative impact to APEC economies is relevant given that the Asia-Pacific comprises 70 percent of the indigenous population worldwide.

The report also contains the objectives of the project carried out, the format and methodology of the virtual meetings, the results of the debate by specific objective, and the conclusions obtained from the discussion. The key points focused on the challenges faced by indigenous women in the APEC region. It also emphasized the common vision to strengthen the cooperation and contribute to the vitality of economies by integrating indigenous women into public policies.
