Singapore to launch a series of capacity building programmes

Singapore, 20 July 2009 - As part of Singapore's effort to strengthen the Multilateral Trading System, Singapore will be launching a series of capacity building programmes. Valued at USD 400,000, these programmes will cover specific priority areas such as trade facilitation, services and the WTO for APEC economies over the next 3 years.

Singapore will also be hosting and contributing to the upcoming PECC-SINPECC Conference from 5-7 October. The theme of the Conference is "Economic Crisis and Recovery: Enhancing Resilience, Structural Reform and Freer Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region".
