The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) has conducted this analysis for the APEC Secretariat to determine the progress achieved by APEC and its 21 member economies in the liberalisation of air services between 1995 and 2005.

Short Sea Shipping Study: A Report on Successful SSS Models that can Improve Ports' Efficiency and Security while Reducing Congestion, Fuel Costs, and Pollution, October 2007
The main objective of this Project has the specific aim of offsetting and lessening congestion at major hub ports which is expected to worsen substantially as larger ships call on these ports and trade doubles over the next two decade.

Initiatives for Improving Road Safety - Phase I, Compendium of Road Safety Initiatives, 2004

The compendium addresses the consolidated major safety issues. For each issue, the compendium provides:
  • a description, mainly based on the APEC documentation supplemented by
    the study team's input;
  • the range of road safety initiatives categorized into Engineering, Enforcement (including judiciary initiatives), Education (including examples of 'good practices' from the APEC member economies and other sources, when available; and,
  • documented "empirical evidence" in support of recommended initiatives as reported in various sources.

Electronic Transmission of the SANCRT Message - Paperless Trading Demonstration Project, 2003

The purpose of this project is to identify institutional barriers to the removal of paper requirements used by the dairy industry in international cross-border trade within APEC, provide solutions and conduct demonstration activities. Thus the project aims to achieve benefits for the international APEC trading community through greater understanding and practical use of available electronic commerce technology in the supply chain.
