Help for Search

Basic Search

  1. The Basic Search text box is located on the Top Navigation Bar. To use this, just type in one or more words that best describe the information that you're looking for and click Go.
Use specific words to describe what you're looking for. General terms will give a larger number of results, so try to narrow your search.

  2. Automatic "AND"
When you use Basic Search, by default it looks for pages/documents which have ALL the words you keyed in. For example, if you typed trade facilitation, the results will contain the words trade and facilitation.

  3. Using OR
If you're equally interested in two or more alternatives, use OR in capital letters. For example, agricultural OR ATC OR ATCWG.

  4. Exact Phrase
To search for an exact phrase, just put quotation marks around two or more words. For example, search "trade facilitation" (type the quotation marks into the text box).

  5. Word Variations
Use * at the of a term if you want to search for variations of the term. For example, when you type in recommend*, pages containing any of these words recommend, recommended, recommendation, recommendations will be retrieved.

  6. Case Sensitivity
If you type in terms in lower case, the search will treat it as NO case-sensitivity. However, if you submit words with any Upper case characters, the search will treat that Upper case character with case-sensitivity. For example, if you type in Recommend, the search will retrieve pages with Recommend but NOT recommend.
