Assessment of Environmental Safety of Aquaculture Farms Using Biochemical Indicators of Distress, 2000
Aquaculture is a rapidly expanding industry in many Asia-Pacific countries. Aquacultural production in Asia alone accounts for more than 85% of global aquacultural production. In recent years, with increasing pollution of coastal areas, the aquaculture industry is threatened by environmental degradation encountered in many coastal environments.

The Marine Resources Conversation Working Group of APEC has initiated a study on assessment of the environmental safety of aquaculture farms using biochemical indicators of distress.

The report will help to establish an effective strategy to ensure environmental safety of aquacultural farms, that is essential for the sustainable development of the aquacultural industry.
