Finance Ministers' Meeting Briefing Notes
Issued by the 14th APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting

The 14th APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting takes place this
week in Coolum, Australia. In preparation for the meeting, the Australian
Treasury, as the host department for the meeting, has prepared a number of
background notes on the policy themes to be discussed by the APEC finance
ministers.

The week of meetings began today with a preparatory meeting
of officials to draft final documents and will be followed by a meeting of
Finance and Central Bank Deputies on 31 July-1August, before the Meeting of APEC
Finance Ministers will meet on 2-3 August.
