| ABAC is a permanent body set up by APEC to provide an independent business perspective within the APEC process. ABAC comprises up to three business representatives from each member economy who meet four times each year to discuss business sector priorities and concerns. Issues of importance to ABAC this year include continued progress on global and regional trade and investment liberalisation and facilitation, climate change and energy security. |

| The 19th annual APEC Ministerial Meeting will be attended by Foreign and Trade Ministers from the 21 APEC Member Economies. At the two-day meeting Ministers will review the key achievements of the year, and agree upon initiatives to be undertaken during the following APEC year, to be hosted by Peru in 2008. At the conclusion of the meeting, a Joint Statement agreed by Ministers will be issued for endorsement at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. |

| The 2007 Business Summit is being organised directly by the Australian Government. The summit aims for genuine dialogue between APEC Economic Leaders, business leaders, international opinion setters and policy makers. A range of issues will be covered including trade, market and structural issues, energy, education, information and innovation. The theme for 2007 is: "Strengthening Our Community, Building a Sustainable Future." |

| APEC Economic Leaders meet annually. Priority agenda items for this 15th AELM are likely to be: support for the WTO Doha Round; new ways to promote regional economic integration; behind the border reform; human security; energy security and climate change. At the conclusion of discussions, Leaders will issue the APEC Economic Leaders' Declaration, which will contain the shared views of Leaders and set the strategic directions for APEC for the next year. |
