"Third Gender Analysis Workshop" trained APEC
officials to train them in incorporate gender contents into their
policies, proposals and strategies.

"Women in the Digital Economy Forum" was held
in Arequipa, Peru, 9-10 May 2008 (an ECSG project endorsed by GFPN).

Co-sponsored by Singapore, the "APEC Digital
Economy Forum for Women", held on 19 April 2008 aim was the promotion
of women access to ICTs for business purposes including the formulation
and dissemination of best practices for women's participation in
e-business and in the digital economy.

To improve gender responses to natural disasters and
other emergencies, Australia participated in the "Emergency
Management CEO?s Seminar" held by the Taskforce for Emergency
Preparedness in August 2007,
- Development of a gender and trade database to be posted on the APEC/GFPN
website is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2008. It is expected
that the database will assess the current state of knowledge about gender
and trade, to inform the development of policy in this area based on
existing literature and on information from selected organizations,
including international agencies and NGOs.
