Last Call: Media Registration for 2015 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week

Media registration is closing for the 2015 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week to be hosted by the Philippines on 13-19 November in Manila. The proceedings will culminate with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on 18-19 November, to be chaired by Philippine President Benigno Aquino III.

 

Background

Leaders’ Week will bring together the Leaders, Ministers and Senior Officials of the 21 APEC members to build more inclusive Asia-Pacific economies, with a focus on boosting trade and growth while ensuring that the benefits are widely felt. Priorities will include:

 

  • Enhancing Regional Economic Integration
  • Fostering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Participation in Regional and Global Markets
  • Investing in Human Capital Development
  • Building Sustainable and Resilient Communities

 

Proceedings

APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM): Manila, 18-19 November

Chaired by Philippine President Benigno Aquino III and including the Leaders of the other 20 APEC member economies, the meeting will provide strategic vision and directives for future collaboration.

 

APEC Business Advisory Council Dialogue with Leaders: Manila, 18 November

Representatives from the APEC Business Advisory Council will have an opportunity to discuss policy priorities and recommendations with APEC Leaders.

 

APEC CEO Summit: Manila, 17-18 November

An open dialogue held in conjunction with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and organized by the private sector featuring the region’s Leaders and business heads.

 

APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM): Manila, 16-17 November

Hosted by Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario and Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, and including both the Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministers from the other 20 APEC economies, the meeting will decide the contours of joint policy development and implementation moving forward.

 

APEC Concluding Senior Officials’ Meeting (CSOM): Manila, 13-14 November

Guided by Philippine Foreign Affairs Undersecretary and Chair of the 2015 APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting Laura Q. Del Rosario, APEC Senior Officials from member economies will finalize a package of new measures to enhance and sustain growth.

 

Key Media Events: 

Information on events and activities open to accredited media during the 2015 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, including timing and venue details, will be announced as it becomes available.

 

DEADLINE FOR MEDIA REGISTRATION: 5 OCTOBER 2015

 

Registration procedures:

All media representatives wishing to cover meetings and events during the 2015 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week should register online at: http://reg.apec2015.ph/media. Information provided should be accurate and complete.

 

Identification badges will be issued to accredited media representatives. 

 

Passport and visa requirements:

All foreign/visiting journalists are required to possess a valid passport with at least 6 month’s validity from time of travel and a temporary visitor’s visa. Upon receiving registration confirmation online, representatives can apply for a temporary visitor’s visa at their economy’s respective Philippine Embassy.

 

The following must be submitted upon application of a temporary visitor’s visa:

 

A. Passport

B. APEC Accreditation Confirmation Letter

C. Letter of Assignment 

 

Media Center:

The International Media Center shall be operational from 12-19 November at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Gil Puyat Avenue Extension corner Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City 1300.

 

Note on media access:

All media representatives must be accredited and wear their identification badge to gain access to the meeting venue, facilities and specified events open to media.
