APEC Photo Contest 2015 Opens

Cebu, The Philippines, 25 August 2015 – The APEC Photo Contest 2015 is now open for enthusiasts to submit images reflecting the impact of inclusive, sustainable trade, development and economic growth on the lives of people in the Asia-Pacific.

 

Eligibility and Submission Parameters:

 

The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers alike from the 21 APEC member economies. Participants can submit up to three photographs which provide a visual commentary of the economic, social and environmental effects of greater APEC member cooperation under their 2015 agenda priorities:

 

  • Enhance regional economic integration
  • Foster micro, small and medium enterprise participation in regional and global markets
  • Invest in human capital development
  • Build sustainable and resilient communities

 

Award Prizes:

 

1st Place:  SGD 2,000

2nd Place: SGD 1,500

3rd Place:  SGD 1,000

Popular Choice Award: SGD 1,000

 

Deadline for Submission: 2 October 2015

 

Results:

 

The winners of this year’s APEC Photo Contest will be announced when Senior Officials from APEC member economies meet on 13-14 November during the 2015 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Manila.

 

Evaluation of Submissions:

 

A panel of judges consisting of renowned photojournalists as well as officials from APEC member economies will determine the contest finalists and winners.

 

The top ten photographs will be revealed on 12 October. The public will subsequently be able to vote online for their favorite images until 1 November. The photograph that receives the most votes will win the Popular Choice Award.
