APEC Ministers Responsible for Mining Meeting Beijing, People's Republic of China | 28 June 2014

APEC Ministers Responsible for Mining concluded their two-day meeting on Saturday by issuing a Joint Statement detailing actions to achieve sustainable development in the sector. Emphasis is on accelerating mining’s transformation and upgrading, and the pursuit of a modernized development path to improve its social, environmental, and economic benefits.

The Joint Statement includes the following sections:

  • Closer Cooperation of the Mining Sector in the Asia-Pacific Region
  • Innovation-driven Growth
  • Social Responsibility and Common Development
