APEC Trade Ministers issue statements on economic recovery and sustainable growth, WTO

APEC Ministers Responsible For Trade Meeting Kazan, Russia | 05 June 2012

APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade concluded their meeting in Kazan, Russia today by issuing two statements on APEC’s cooperative efforts to promote deeper economic integration.

The Meeting of APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Statement covers specific inputs on the concrete steps being taken by member economies to advance the following 2012 priority issues which are critical to promoting economic recovery and sustainable growth:

  • trade and investment liberalization, and regional economic integration
  • establishing reliable supply chains
  • intensive cooperation to foster innovative growth
  • strengthening food security

Ministers also issued a stand-alone Statement on Supporting the Multilateral Trading System and Resisting Protectionism.
