Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards

§571.117 Standard No. 117; Retreaded pneumatic tires

Link This standard specifies performance, labeling, and certification requirements for retreaded pneumatic passenger car tires. The purpose of this standard is to require retreaded pneumatic passenger car tires to meet safety criteria similar to those for new pneumatic passenger car tires. This standard applies to retreaded pneumatic tires for use on passenger cars manufactured after 1948.

Conditional Exclusion for Used, Broken Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) and Processed CRT Glass Undergoing Recycling

40 CFR Part 40 261.39

Link U.S. exporters shipping broken or unbroken CRTs to another economy for recycling must notify EPA and receive written consent from the receiving economy through EPA before shipments can be made. This requirement is similar to those applicable to exporters of hazardous waste, which are found at 40 CFR Part 262. Exporters shipping used, unbroken CRTs for reuse as computers to another economy must submit a one-time notification to EPA.
